Online presence score
Your online presence, scored out of 10.
Before a customer calls, they check you online. Your score rates your business on the ten things they check: your website, your Google profile, your reviews, how easily customers find you, and whether AI search names you.
Free. Scored by a person, sent as a 2-minute video. No contract.
The ten checks, in full
The checks are published here, and they are the same for every business we score. Nine checks are a full point or nothing. AI search can also earn a half point, when your facts are ready for AI to read but no engine names you yet. Most local businesses score 2 or under.
Your website: 4 points
This is what a customer sees when they tap through to you.
Loads fast on a phone
Opens in about 3 seconds or less on mobile data. A slow site loses the customer before they read a word.
Click-to-call up top
A call button or number you can tap without scrolling or hunting. If calling takes effort, most people will not bother.
An easy way to ask for a job
A working contact form or quote request, and email links that point at a real address. A broken form is a lost job you never hear about.
Looks current
Design that does not look years old, photos that look recent, and no stale notices from years ago. An outdated site reads as a business that may have closed.
Your Google profile: 2 points
For most local searches, this is the first thing a customer sees.
Profile claimed and filled
Your Google Business Profile has hours, services, service area, and real photos, not just a pin on the map.
Review strength
20 or more Google reviews and a rating of 4.3 stars or better. Both halves are needed for the point: plenty of reviews at a low rating, or a high rating on two reviews, does not earn it.
Being found: 2 points
A good website nobody finds is a brochure in a drawer.
Shows up where customers look
Appears on page one or in the map pack for your main service in your town, for example "plumber in Manchester".
Same details everywhere
Your name, phone, and address match across Google, Facebook, and directories. Mismatches cost rankings and trust.
Proof of life: 1 point
Posted in the last 30 days
Something new on Facebook, Instagram, or Google posts. A silent business reads as a closed one.
AI can find and name you
Ask the major AI engines for your main service in your town, without naming your business. A full point if at least one engine names or cites you unprompted. A half point if no engine names you yet, but your facts are machine-readable, so you are positioned to be cited. Zero if engines name only competitors and directories.
What your score means
The score is a starting point, not a verdict. It tells you which side your problem is on, so you fix what is actually failing instead of rebuilding what already works.
Only small gaps left. Sell the remaining gaps and the monthly plan, not a rebuild panic.
Real gaps, and easy wins. The standard fixes move this band fast.
Most of the online work in your area is going to competitors first.
Every point here is a job going elsewhere. This is where most local businesses land.

What is an online presence score?
It is a score out of 10 for how your business looks to a customer who finds you online. It covers ten checks: your website, your Google profile, your reviews, how easily customers find you, and whether AI search tools name your business.
How is the score worked out?
A person checks each of the ten published checks by hand and gives a point for each one your business passes. AI search can also earn a half point when your facts are ready for AI to read but no engine names you yet. The checks are the same for every business scored.
What does my score mean?
Scores of 8 to 10 are strong, with only small gaps left. Scores of 5 to 7.5 are average, with real gaps and easy wins. Scores of 3 to 4.5 are weak, and most local businesses we score land at 2 or under, which means they are nearly invisible online and jobs are going to competitors first.
Does getting my score cost anything?
No. The Presence Review is free. You get your score out of 10, the checks that failed, and a 2-minute video walking through it. If your website is fine, we say so, and we do not sell you one.
What happens after I get my score?
Only the failing checks get fixed: a modern website if yours is holding you back, a Google profile that is filled in and working, and the reviews and regular posts that show you are open and busy. After that, a monthly score report shows where you were, where you are, and what is next.
